    ABOUT ROMAIN LANGLOIS

Romain Langlois is a French artist renowned for his distinctive bronze sculptures. Through polished surfaces and golden tones, he transforms the material into organic, almost mineral forms. Each work is the result of an extensive process of research and refinement, making his production intentionally limited and each sculpture unique. Romain Langlois; a self taught artits.  Langlois’ practice explores the relationship between humans, nature and space. After working in an architecture firm from 2000 to 2005, he turned to sculpture to pursue these ideas through a more intuitive and artistic approach.

Following a brief period at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin, he continued his training independently. Influenced by contemporary sculptors such as Ousmane Sow, Langlois experimented with clay, wood, quartz and plaster, gradually mastering techniques including modelling, polishing and chiselling. His early works from the late 2000s focused on the human body and anatomy. This technical foundation later led him towards abstraction and to sculptures inspired by rocks and natural formations. Works such as Space Attraction, Resonance and Container exemplify this evolution and have contributed to the recognition of his artistic practice.
